In Conversation: Memories, Nostalgia & Built Heritage
August 2023
Esplanade reached out to invite me to participate in the 2023 The Studios series which featured a number of shows and talks on ‘Landings’ – exploring roots and associations with our lands. I thoroughly enjoyed this – it was great to be able to combine both of my academic pursuits in digital heritage and civil society with this, and learned so much from Xuemei and Joel too!
I was joined by Han Xuemei from DramaBox, and Joel Tan, playwright behind Mosaics (Credits: Esplanade)

I worked on the IT applications for the centerpiece map for this exhibition, and here, I demonstrated how it works to then MOS Desmond Lee (Credits: Ang Hock Chuan)
Children’s Book
The Shepherd And His Cloud
April 2011
Shai is a shepherd, but not the ordinary kind. He is a shepherd of the clouds in the sky. He is often lonely, but one day, a mischievous little cloud turns his world upside down. A story about the delicate bonds of friendship.
The Shepherd And His Cloud is the winner of the 2009 “First-Time Writers and Illustrators Publishing Initiative” with the support of the Media Development Authority of Singapore and the National Book Development Council of Singapore.
This was my first attempt at writing a children’s book. The story was inspired by my relationship with my late mother. Would not have been possible without the artistic genius of my friend drewscape.
